Widcombe is a characterful and bohemian neighbourhood tucked into the valley just south of Bath city centre, on the opposite bank of the River Avon, with a distinctly village-like feel that sets it apart from the more polished Georgian grandeur found elsewhere in the city. Its biggest draw for visitors is Prior Park Landscape Garden, a magnificent National Trust property featuring one of only four Palladian bridges in the world, set within sweeping parkland with stunning views down towards the city.
The Kennet and Avon Canal runs through the neighbourhood, and the flight of Widcombe Locks is one of the most photographed stretches of the entire canal, where narrowboats can be watched navigating the impressive seven-lock staircase. With its independent pubs, cafés, and warm community atmosphere, Widcombe offers a refreshingly unpretentious and authentic side of Bath that is well worth the short walk from the city centre.

Can you come to an Airbnb or hotel?
