Planning a Hen Weekend in Bath, Somerset

Planning a Hen Weekend for a large group can be daunting. I've been a bridesmaid 10 times so far in my life & I’ve planned many many Hen dos. I really understand how stressful they can be, and how much time they can take to organise.

If you don’t know the city or the area, it’s really hard to know where to go or what to do.

The majority of the Hen Dos that I have organised have been in the beautiful city of Bath. Jam-packed with history and stunning 18th-century architecture, not to mention its famous spa, award-winning cocktail bars and unique restaurants, there’s no question that having a hen do in Bath is a choice you'll never forget.

Here is my guide to planning the perfect Hen Do in Bath. I will share a range of activity ideas and places to go out. I have grown up in Bath and still live locally. Sometimes a bit of local knowledge can help nail those boring logistics such as parking and travel plans. If overlooked, these things can really put a damper on the weekend, making things stressful for you as the organiser, when they just don’t need to be.

From my experience the magic is in the detail when planning events.

Bath really is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. Even just exploring the city centre on foot is a really lovely way to spend an afternoon. There’s lots of beautiful architecture, independent shops and coffee shops that you will find just by walking and you can see so much.

Bath as a city isn’t very large, making it a really easy place to walk around. You can find bustling trendy shops and bars, but also easily access beautiful green open spaces, making it really versatile.

Where to Stay in Bath

You will be absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation. There are Airbnb's everywhere. You may decide you want to stay in the beautiful countryside that surrounds the city. There is a good bus network that can take you into the centre of town from the surrounding areas of Bath. So if you want something a little bit more peaceful and quiet with a sense of a retreat, this could be a good option for you.

Or if you want to stay in the centre of the city, surrounded by a bit of hustle and bustle with nightlife on your doorstep, there are many gorgeous self catering accommodations available. If you’re staying in the centre of Bath, arriving by train is ideal, as you should be able to easily walk to your accommodation. The train station is located in the centre of the city.

Top tip: Parking is a nightmare in the centre of Bath so if you are coming by car do check that your accommodation provides either a parking permit or has somewhere for you to park.

What Our Clients Say

"We had a group booking with massages and a pedicure. Everyone in the group was very pleased! The massage was amazing and I was very impressed with the professionalism and communication from Ally, which makes a big difference when coordinating a group. Ally was also able to accommodate our request for prenatal massages"

Eleanor Huizeling

"I couldn’t recommend Ally and the team enough. We were lucky enough to have Linda Teresa and Lucy come to our rented property and do massages and facials for 24 of us. Not one single complaint amongst the group, everyone was thrilled with their treatments and commented on how excellent quality they were. Despite being in a domestic setup, they were able to turn the bedrooms into a peaceful setting with lovely music which added to the atmosphere. Ally was amazing from the moment we first spoke, organisation was incredible and she was incredibly flexible and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone organising a hen do in the area. Thank you ladies!"
